Assoc. Prof. Jan Robert R Go, PhD examines how urban communities navigated participation and governance during the COVID-19 crisis. His new book, The Politics of Participation in Urban Communities during the COVID-19 Crisis: Perspectives from Wuhan and Quezon City, challenges dominant understandings of political participation by arguing that both participation and non-participation carry political meaning. It introduces the politics of participation framework, highlighting the construction of power, dynamics of participation, and narratives of power and participation as key dimensions shaping community responses during the crisis.
