Undergraduate Courses (New)

The courses to be offered to the undergraduate students are designed to provide competency in the basic sub-fields of political science, which include Philippine politics, political theory, comparative politics, international relations, and political science research methodology. Below is a list of undergraduate courses offered by the Department under the new curriculum (effective academic year 2016-2017).

Political Science 101: Introduction to Philippine Politics
Approaches and intellectual traditions in the study of Philippine politics, including the development, operation, and organization of the Philippine political system. 3 units.

The national executive in the Philippines; its nature and development.

A Survey of social economic and political thought from the classical to contemporary times. This is a General Education (G.E.) course that may be taken to satisfy the Revitalized G.E. Program (RGEP) requirement in the Social Sciences and Philosophy domain. 3 units.

Social Science 104: Human Rights and Humanitarian Law
Seminar on the evolution and development of the theory, principles and practice of international human rights and humanitarian law. This course cannot be credited for Political Science elective. 3 units.
