Assoc. Prof. Dennis V. Blanco recently published an article entitled, “Football Governance in the Philippines: Paradigms, Stakeholders, Challenges and Opportunities” in the latest issue of the Asian Journal of Sport History & Culture.

The abstract reads:

Employing document analysis as a qualitative research tool espoused by Bowen’s document analysis, the article begins with a passing review of football governance paradigms, proceeds with the description of the relevant laws and policies, and identifies key actors and stakeholders of football governance in the Philippines. More importantly, the paper analyzes the significant football paradigms and models as ways forward in the development of football governance in the Philippines. The paper also incorporates established and relatively established paradigms and models of football governance as an added dimension espoused by football governance scholars to support and reinforce its ontological argument. Consequently, the analysis and examination of these football paradigms, models, and successful cases create an implication for football researchers and policy-makers alike to explore topic and themes that interrogate the dynamic interaction of paradigms, policies, and stakeholders as it intersperses with the significant issues and challenges and relevant capacities necessary for the development of football governance in the Philippines and Asia.
