Luis Gabriel Alfonso R. Estrada is currently a lecturer in the Department of Political Science, University of the Philippines, Diliman. He is also a Research Associate at Asia Pacific Pathways to Progress Foundation, Inc., an independent, foreign and security policy think tank based in Manila, where he focuses on maritime security in Southeast Asia and has previously worked on projects that looked into the South China Sea territorial disputes and the Trilateral Cooperative Arrangement between the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia. He earned his Masters degree in ASEAN Studies from the Asia-Europe Institute of Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, and his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of the Philippines, Diliman.
