Professor Teresa S. Encarnacion Tadem wins the 2021 Outstanding Book Award from the National Academy of Science and Technology for her book titled “Philippine Politics and the Marcos Technocrats: The Emergence and Evolution of Power Elite” (2019, Ateneo de Manila University Press). Her book comprehensively traces the rise of technocrats and their important role in policy-making under the Marcos administration.

Recipients of the annual NAST Outstanding Book/Monograph award are judged for the quality and originality of the works’ content, its contribution to science and technology, clarity of presentation, and the thoroughness of documentation provided in the publication.
