The UP Department of Political Science successfully hosted a book presentation of The Economic Impact of the South China Sea Disputes (Volume 11 of Migrazioni / Migrations, Edizioni Nuova Cultura, 2025) on 10 March 2026 at Pilar Herrera Hall.

The book was presented by Stefano Pelaggi from Sapienza University of Rome, offering valuable insights into the economic dimensions of the ongoing disputes in the South China Sea. The discussion was moderated by Matteo Piasentini, Senior Lecturer at the UP Department of Political Science.

The event was graced by Prof. Ruth R. Lusterio-Rico, PhD, Dean of the UP College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, and Prof. Jean Paul L. Zialcita, PhD, Chair of the UP Department of Political Science.

The presentation fostered meaningful conversations on regional geopolitics, economic implications of maritime disputes, and the importance of interdisciplinary scholarship in understanding complex international issues.
