Assistant Professor Aaron Mallari, working towards his PhD Political Science in UP Diliman, was among the selected participants to the 2025 Association of Southeast Asian Studies (ASEAS) International PhD Workshop held at the Srinakharinwirot University, Bangkok Thailand.

Receiving feedback and mentoring from esteemed professors from the association, Asst. Prof. Mallari presented his developing research on the intersections of the emerging field of emotions in international relations with transnational crime and migration diplomacy, focusing on the cases of OFWs facing acute precarity owing to capital punishment, precarious labor conditions, and crisis situations.
