Adrian Carlo C. Manlangit is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science, College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, University of the Philippines Diliman. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts (magna cum laude) and Master of Arts degrees in Political Science from the same institution. Currently, he teaches courses on social, economic, and political thought (Social Science 2) and politics and society (Political Science 121). His research interests include Philippine local politics, disaster governance, and political participation.
From 2018 to 2024, he worked as a senior high school social sciences and research teacher. From 2020 to 2021, he also worked as a content specialist and editor for Philippine Politics and Governance at an educational technology company. In 2024 and 2025, he presented his work at the Postgraduate Students Research Forum of Hong Kong Baptist University and won Best Research Awards. Furthermore, in 2024, he received the Loretta Makasiar Sicat Thesis/Dissertation Grant for his master’s thesis on the politics of disaster management and people’s participation.
In 2025, he presented his research at the World Congress of Political Science of the International Political Science Association (IPSA) in Seoul, South Korea. In the same year, he served as a senior research assistant at the UP Department of Political Science.
